In September 1986, a Super Étendard crashed into the Mediterranean Sea the pilot ejected. On, a Super Étendard crashed off the coast of Toulon the pilot was killed.Touch-and-go landing exercises were also common on US Navy carriers during Gringo-Gaucho manoeuvres and joint exercises. Since 1993, Argentinian pilots have practised on board the neighbouring Brazilian Navy's aircraft carrier São Paulo. Super Étendards performed qualifications on aircraft carrier ARA 25 de Mayo until the ship's final retirement. Following the end of the conflict, by 1984 Argentina had been able to complete the delivery of the full 14 Super Étendards ordered as well as Exocets with which to arm them. The Exocets that struck Atlantic Conveyor had been inadvertently redirected by decoy chaff deployed as a defensive measure by other ships Both Sheffield and Atlantic Conveyor sank whilst under tow some days later following these Exocet strikes. On 25 May, another attack by two Super Étendards resulted in two missiles hitting the merchant ship Atlantic Conveyor, which was carrying several helicopters and various other supplies to the front line. On 4 May, two Super Étendards, guided by a Lockheed P-2H Neptune, each launched one Exocet at the British destroyer HMS Sheffield, with one missile crippling Sheffield. All other info I've gathered from previous posts like these and some researching of my own.A first attempt to attack the British fleet was made on, but this was abandoned due to flight-refuelling problems. NOTE: The only aircraft I've actually bought/downloaded is the PMDG 737 NGX. I apologize for the large amount of text. However for anything else GA you'll have to ask someone else, as I know little in this area. Haven't downloaded any of their aircraft, but I hear good things about them.Īs for GA aircraft, I have also heard great things about A2A's GA aircraft, especially their Cessnas. One name that comes up a lot for freeware airliners is Project Opensky (often shorted to POSKY). Both of these sites are not publishers of their own aircraft, but instead list thousands of freeware aircraft. There are many other payware publishers, these are the most popular ones IMO.įreeware: Try out fs-freeware and Fly Away Simulations. Other popular payware airliner publishers: Captain Sim, Level D 767, Aerosoft, Flight1 (also known as IFly, does a freeware 747 ). For long hauls, the relatively new 777 is incredible, however the older 747 is still a great choice. For shorter flights, the outstanding 737 NGX. Some might prefer other publishers, but most will agree PMDG airliners are the top of the sim world. Very expensive ($70+), but arguably the best. You mentioned two GA aircraft in your post, but for payware airliners:
